Are you sure it is not an ignition misfire?....your PCM may not be picking up the codes but you may mistaking a transmission shudder for misfire under load.

yeah thought about that but if it was an ignition problem why would it only do it in overdrive.ive run the truck with my trailer loaded and it didnt do it in any gear except overdrive

That's a common missconception.

It is true that even a slight miss fire or stumble will magnify in Lock up mode vs any other gear.
The reason being, the entire engine / transmission is turning as one.
The convertor is locked up and there is no torque multiplication or cushioning.

Check the ignition system.

If you determine it is an ignition problem...which I bet it is....check your coilpacks, plugs or wiring harness....if you can borrow a code reader, see if you pull any codes...good luck...

Sounds like the TC is dead...or you have a TCC solenoid issue.
You took the proper course of action by servicing the fluid...did you use Mercon V or any addatives like FORD suggests?

Dose it feel like a chatter type shudder or more like a jerk? A jerking is an engine skip. To test, at steady throttle when it is happening just lightly press the brake pedal enough to turn on the stop lights. If the shutter stops release the pedal and if the shudder returns immediately it's a skip if not it is the converter clutch.
