After installing a Transgo shift kit in my FMX I have lost reverse and engine braking in 1st. I decided to go with the stick shift option. I followed thier instructions without problems. Does anyone have or know where I can find an FMX valve body flow diagram. Also, which hole the case controls the rear band? Any test ideas are greatly apprieciated. Thanks.

Here is a pic with descriptions of the various valves.
You should have had a similar one with the shiftkit.
Did you remove anything else along with the vb?

No, just the valve body was removed. I didn't even loosen the front servo, I cheated by removing the lower valve body. The valve body is back out now, from what I can see the rear band is in tact, and everything appears to be in place. For reverse does fluid enter any valves in the VB other than the manual valve? I want to air check the servo, which hole on the case controls it?

There could be up to 4 check balls in the valve body.

Did you notice any in your drain pan?

The rear servo apply is in the back of the case next to the servo.

Sounds like you might need either the 1970 (or similar) Mustang Shop Manual. The transmission section is very detailed and includes the flow diagram.

The ATSG service manual for FMX also includes a reprinted version of the Ford shop flow diagram.

There are some good transmission study guide (Amazon.com?) that include the diagrams as well.
