That opens up the old yam vs. sweet potato question. I could never figure out the difference, but Bruce's website says yams are a hybrid of sweet potato.

and use them (or Bruce's) instead of fresh almost always. Less waste and much less work! I made a great sweet potato crunch casserole (recipe from this forum, I do believe) last year.

Whenever I utter the word "exercise" I will rinse my mouth with chocolate!

Despite what the web site says calling sweet potatoes "Yams" is a marketing tool. True yams are not grown in the United States to my knowledge. They are basically a tropical crop popular in Africa and tropical islands.

I had never bought canned sweet potatoes before, bought a can of Bruce's, and I won't make that mistake again. If I can't get some good fresh ones, I'll do without. The texture was just gross, not to mention basically no taste. Yuck!
