I saved a engine from the boneyard today but im not good at these FE numbers so how about a crankshaft #2T cast onto the throw on #4 journal.The engine is a mut its got a 74 block 72 heads dist 68 chain cover 64 it seems to came out of a heavy truck or bus by the mounts it someone could help

are you sure it is a mutt? ford did not change numbers every year. only when they revised something. you can have a C4TE timing cover on a 76 truck engine. and the D4TE block came with D2TE heads etc... you need to check the date codes for when the part was actually made rather than the casting number. the block date code will be on the bottom between the oil filter mount and the oil pan rail. it will look like 6H29 or something similar. all of the cast iron parts will usually have a date code including manifolds and heads but not teh crank. hawkrod
