Two bedrooms (both south facing, one in the basement, other is second story)
one bathroom (basement, tiny, north facing)
entranceway (south facing, two levels)

that's what needs to be painted.

Livingroom is a sage green
kitchen is a light yellow

What's in? Suggestions for colours?

That's going to depend on existing furnishings/things you aren't replacing.

One bedroom has 70's dark wood furnishings, and one wall has dark wood panelling.
other bedroom has lighter neutral furniture

everything in the bathroom is light/neutral

Entranceway has a grey carpet.

Are you painting the paneling?

No, it's staying the same. Have the same paneling in 2 other parts of the house. In one area we filled all the paneling ribs so it looks like a flat wall, in the other we just painted with the ribs still there. Both were a pain in the ass.

Anything small or poorly lit, I'd go with the lightest shade of whatever color you decide, if not all white. Our house is very poorly lit, and I'm after Nathan to help me brighten it up. First order of business is going to be the bathroom. I want to paint it all white, get a white shower curtain, and accent with a red bathmat and towels. My first thought was white and orange, but I was reminded those are UT colors. BOO.

I like the idea of painting, but yeah, I hate it.

About 3 weeks ago I re-painted an arbour outside. I figured it would take me like 2.5-3 hours.

6 hours later I was sunburnt and bitchy.

Ooooh, or light grey walls with yellow and white accents. You should do that. Final answer.

I like the grey/yellow/white idea.

I'm thinking of going yellow for the bathroom. I get the theory behind white rooms, but they just don't make me happy.

Oh I forgot to mention an unfortunate brown carpet in the downstairs bedroom that is staying.
