Dear all,

A few years ago, forumites offered important assistance regarding the Finnish-American musician/composer/arranger Einar Swan. I am very grateful for this generous help which enabled me to write a brief biographical sketch:http://finlander.genealogia.fi/sfhswiki/bilder/Swan.pdf

The curator of the Ted Lewis Museum, Joseph N. Rubin, has kindly provided this link to a recording of one of Swan's arrangements for the violinist Dave Rubinoff and his orchestra, from Rubinoff's Chevrolet programme:

Joseph also informs me that the museum will feature a "Rubinoff and his Violin" concert on June 2, 2018 including this and other arrangements by Einar Swan.http://www.tedlewismuseum.org

What you describe as a brief biographical sketch is, in my opinion, a comprehensive biographical work on Einar Swan.

November 9, 1929. The third anniversary revue at the Paramount Theatre in New York City ranged from slapstick comedy to male eccentric dancers to lavish numbers. The last number was an interpretation of Gershwin’s Rhapsody in Blue with girls in blue tinsel dresses dancing to the music played by violinist David Rubinoff (born in Russia in 1897, died in Columbus OH in 1986) conducting the pit orchestra. The Rhapsody number ended with a fire backstage behind a protecting scrim.
