If you do a google/images search for the Goofus Five, the majority of hits give photos like the ones below. That is not a photo of the Goofus Five but of the Little Ramblers. The image shows the Little Ramblers with a Goofus Five record label. The Goofus Five and the Little Ramblers were bands within the California Ramblers, The Goofus Five recorded for OKeh and the Little Ramblers for Columbia. Both small bands were phenomenal.
In the photo below, we have:
IIrving Brodsky - Piano
Ray Kitchingham - Banjo
Stan King - Kazoo
Bill Moore - Cornet
Adrian Rollini with Cuesnophone (Goofus)
Ray was in the Little Ramblers first recording session (July 3, 1924). In their next recording session (Aug 13, 1924), Ray was replaced by Tommy Fellini. Ray did not record with the Goofus Five.
The "real" (me thinks) Goofus Five. It is the only photo of the Goofus Five I found. Does anyone have another photo of the Goofus Five?
The guy with glasses at the piano is Harold Fair, identified by German Bixophile Friedrich in the Bix Forum more than a decade ago.
Sitting from left to right Bobby Davis, Adrian Rollini, I believe Tommy Fellini The drummer, identified by Vince Giordano, is Stan King. Who is the trumpeter?
