Rube Bloom was born April 24, 1902.  He was a brilliant composer and pianist.  He played on the Sioux City Six sides with Bix, Miff Mole, Tram, Min Leibrook, and Vic Moore.  He composed the ironically happy Flock O' Blues.

Several popular hits over the years, my favorite is I Can't Face the Music.  https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UZYUaIGH5-I

Nuff said.  Hats off to Rube!

"Three Novelty Masters | Fred Elizalde, Carroll Gibbons, Rube Bloom play Novelty Piano.
First off is British Dance Band Leader, Fred Elizalde playing his insane "Piantrope." What can I say, its pretty wicked awesome.
Carroll Gibbons, also a British Dance Band Leader playing his own fun piece, "Bubbling Over."
Finally, Rube Bloom playing his best-known piece "That Futuristic Rag" and it certainly sounds exactly what it looks like! "

Great record. Fine singing. Thank you.

Bloom’s “Don’t Worry Bout Me” sounds like something Harold Arlen might have written. Frank Sinatra, with Nelson Riddle’s help, kills it:
