Just out of interest, what are your thoughts on the old steel bodied Weaver scopes from the El Paso factory. I think they are great and have some on some of my older airguns in England. I used to buy a few off "The Bay", but their policy has changed now, and they dont seem to like sending them over the pond anymore (in fact it is next to impossible to find any American traders who want to send scopes to England anymore.
Do you guys have the same regard for older Weavers, or have they been left behind for better things thesedays?
I'm with you, I have several on my vintage Crosmans and Benjamins. I think they are perfect for these old guns. Lightweight, rugged and reliable. Nothing fancy and inexpensive. I sometimes find them at gun shows for next to nothing. I have a couple more coming from ebay sellers as I type this.
This rifle is one of my favorite shooters. A Crosman 114 with a Weaver B4 clamped on with an old Crosman steel mount. Crude but very effective.
