I have a minty fresh Silver Streak, with the original box/manual.
At least it's supposed to be the original box and manual. Even if it's not, at least it's a box from the right time frame.
There is a date on the manual of 9/92.
Anyway, in my digging I'm having a hard time figuring out exactly when this rifle was built.
It has a Williams peep, and no marks to indicate that it ever wore a blade rear sight.
It has a super light 1st variant trigger, with a tiny bit of creep.
The words Sheridan Products, Racine WI on the right side, and C9 Series 5.0MM on the left.
It has the manual warning, without an address on the front left, and "SILVER STREAK" on the front right.
It also has a serrated ramp front sight.
The serial number starts with a S044***.
I don't think that it could have been built after Aug 1992, with the trigger that it has.
I also haven't been able to find any info of any C9 series rifles with a S/N starting with an S. It always seems to be either a W or nothing.
that the first transitional Sheridans were built in 1991.
But, my fuzzy memory recalls seeing them on the rack as early as 1990.
I bought a "C" series rocker Blue Streak, in the summer of 1990, and I remember preferring it's lines, over the "pregnant guppy" fore grip, and square back of the new tab safety Streaks that they had on the rack.
But, everything I can find now, says that these weren't released until early 1991.
