Dear friends,

let me inform you about a big change in communication from the side of KP and AZ model - from January we will release our newsletter called AVIZO where you will find info about our new products and some facts from company life. In the near future it will be linked with e-shop to make your kit purchase as easy as possible.

Here you can see beta versions
KP - http://www.kovozavody.cz/avizo/
AZ - http://azmodel.cz/avizo/AVIZOAZ-EN-0016.pdf

Your comments what and how to improve it are welcomed... The best way to discuss is to contact us on our company e-mails.

Hi Jan! Do you have any news regarding release dates for the KP La-7, La-5, and La-5F kits? I don't see this information in either of the links you posted.

Thank you!

Hi Jan,

I like your new AVIZO. Good information and insights; one item I'd like to see included when you announce, via your communications AVIZO would be some background on the subjects you show. Specific background on the subjects, like the Czech Piper L-4: the unit, how long they flew it, any famous events associated with it, why you specifically chose that subject - what sets it apart from a similar subject even in the same unit.

I find some of the subjects you choose for your boxings interesting, but many I know little about and do not have an extensive library on every aircraft or sub type.

Thank you for the preview of AVIZO, I hope your 2016 is as good or better than your 2015!

Regards,
Tim

Hi John and Greenshirt,

a) La-5, La-5F, La-7 - 2Q/2016, 3Q/2016, 4Q/2016..... So you have Christmas 3x this year, I think... :-)

B) Historical background - AVIZO is first of all informative tool for our customers. It will be interlinked with very powerful e-shop, with many options even for our distributors.
We have to decide, if we want to make "magazine" from AVIZO. Personally, I am voting for, not against. But today it is not possible, as our team, even if very effective, is very small. We have to make all we want with info part of AVIZO and later we can do something more. Give us some time please.

Next AVIZO will come before our departure for Nuremberg Toy Fair, so stay tuned....
With friendly regards
Jan

Thanks, Jan - I'll be very happy to see these kits, now that I have finished the La-5FN. :D

Thanks for these infos by AVIZOs, even if I confess I was waiting for more news about KP and AZ future programs, about, for instance, the CR32 and P39 announced several months ago ( It's a year or little more I think ), the new Chipmunk and SIAI 260, etc ... no trace of these subjects or of a real program of long term ( I mean 1quarter 2016, 2nd, 3rd, etc ... something we are used by other firms as Revell, Airfix, etc ... I know KP and AZ are not at the moment so big as the firms above, anyway ... ;) ). May be on next issues ... cross fingers

I'm probably missing something, but I didn't see any mention of scale on any except the Mig 21 and L-29. Can we assume these are all 1/72?

Dear John,
Works are in full swing.
Mill with new fuselages and wings for La-5 and La-5F.
Also we are finishing the 3D modeling of the La-seventh
We moved a bit deadlines because of work on our AZmodel Bf 109F and K-4 lasted a little longer.

In regard to the AZ TBD-1, is it a completely new mold or rewoork of the pavla/admiral kit? Is there anyplace online where sprue shots are pictured?

To TBD-1 - the Admiral kit is in fact Pavla one. Pavla never released TBD-1 and we bought the master modell from them and finished the kit. Also, our boxings are both under label Admiral, there is no one under AZ model label.

Plastic parts can be seen on our company web, see the link -

Very nice set of photoetches is in production of MARABU design from Czech Republic -

Dear Jan

Do you have a date for the release of the new 109 G12, 109 and G10 Erla kits??? I'm a modeler with more than 150 models at 1/72 of the Bf-109 and the G10 Erla is missing on my collection, I want to finish around 6 or 7 of them (G12 is the old MPM kit and also needs a replacement).

And for the La-5 and La-5F models, a date is foreseen???

Rgds and thanks in advance

Well - La 5/5F are now on the milling machine, I expect it in January. 109K around Christmas, G-10 Erla next year, Jan/Feb, G-12 was discussed just today...., it has no ETA today, but March is realistic term.

Dear Big Kohona, I have to react to your post according the lenght issues on our Bf 109G. It is a myth which appeared somewhere....
When designing our 109G, we were using the original factory documentation, which consisted of some 1000 drawings. In National Technical Museum in Prague they have two complete production sets, one in original German and second completely translated into Russian (!!!).

The lenght of the nose section including spinner of Bf 109F to G and K series was constant and made 2565mm, in 1/72nd scale it is 35,62mm. Our 109G has this part 35,56mm long, so the difference is 0,06mm! I think that this we can not call as lenght issue. But, if you compare our kit to your Fine Molds kits, you can see the difference, because Fine Molds is shorter in this section, it is caused by the fact, that FM kit is based on the lenght of 109E, which was shorter in comparison to F-G. This FM kit mistake is well known fact.
We had some comments that our 109G-6 has the problem with the fuselage height, some 0,4mm in comparison to the drawings. Well, we corrected this on F and G-10 kits, but imagine, that thickness of the line on drawings is 0,2mm.... What edge of the line, inner or outer is the correct one?

In my personal opinion our 109 kits are the most accurate in 1/72nd scale. But it is my personal opinion...

Just for your info, there is a scan of original drawing of the fuselage section, if you want it in bigger resolution, contact me on marketing@kovozavody.cz

I agree with you Jan!
The engine cowling length is spot on, it is a little skinnier when seen from the side, as you said.
Not much, but it bothered me enough to start correcting all of my dozen or so kits..

The problem is actually the proportion between the engine cowling and the oil tank "ring" and that IS hard to correct and easily recognizable. Please see the green/red squares drawn onto the photo...

Fine molds, apart from being a perfect fit, has a joke of a rear fuselage, with fat fish like belly and also the nose seems a little fat and short....that is not to mention the price...

I wonder if any of the Fine Molds lovers actually bothered to check the cross sections of the rear fuselage, and if so, what did they find...

That being said, i think that the AZ is the best available 109 F/G model in accuracy, easiness of construction and price... Good work !

bad edd - thanks. But, looking at your drawing, I scaled down factory drawings and checked with our fuselage. There is no difference. Not all drawings are good drawings. Our kit is based on drawings by John Beaman Jr., which are considered as the most accurate and on factory production plans of Messerschmitt.

Hi again Jan!
I took the liberty of scaling down the excellent drawing you posted and compared to the nose, maybe not as bad as the drawing I had, but the ring still appears a little too narrow.

Useless to say that I can sleep perfectly at night knowing that i have built 5-6 already this way and I am not going to address this minor issue for the next 10-12 i have :) .
The AZ kit is still the best in my opinion.

Again please accept my congratulations for the excellent work you are all doing and for the fact that you take time to chat with us, it takes some serious balls to do that, especially that nowadays it is so easy to hide behind the monitor and hit the keyboard....

bad edd - no problem at all guy. I am here to discuss with you and not to read only a halls of fame. We can consider in fact, that there is no kit, which is correct in everything. We are trying to do the best we can. That´s it. You can accept or not.

If the shape of handles is the only thing causing nightares, OKAY in my opinion it is overall good kit.
Anyway tommorow morning I will check our 109 to see what is wrong with our handles...
GNITE to all.
