I believe most of you know the M51 as used by Israel. First built in 1962 and the last were retired in 1995. Nice long run for a tank designed and built in 1944.

Here is my model I am hammering away on. It is a combination of Converted ModellTrans conversion, Trumpeter chassis and a handful of scratchbuilt parts. It has been an interesting journey. If you have any questions feel free to ask. Hope you enjoy.

On her feet. And here you can see another fix in the conversion. The barrel is almost 2 feet short. It is also too fat. Fixed with styrene tube and lots of sanding.

Getting her on her feet. I decided to put the tracks on now before the fine detail because I did not think It would survive. I was right Broke the right rear fender and knocked the left rear loose. Clearances are tight.

New engine deck nearly finished. You can also see mods I made to the turret bustle and the mantlet. Both were shaped wrong. Pack on the styrene and the putty.

Remove parts in question. Drawings in the Manasherob books are essential.

In the beginning... Engine deck is all dinky dao.

Got a little more done. I think I have most of the problems corrected on the turret. I’ve also scratchbuild new track guard braces. I call these my Mk. 1 version. I made enough stock to do this model. I am going to refine the technique for future models so the braces will be finer. Here are a few photos. I hope you enjoy.

If I was more into armor, I might attempt such a conversion... have always liked the Isherman's!
