I've tried to find the original thread to no avail, does anyone remember who was offering these repro 36 Patt boots? I believe the price was 300 quid made to order.

Was it Aeroleathers up in Scotland and then some guy on ebay with a handle like motorcowboy?

Are you happy with them?

Do you have originals to compare them to?

You have three boots!!!

I know it's not Aeroleathers and I don't think it was Motorcowboys as their current boot differs quite a bit.
I've posted these actual pics on the forum for him, but I can't for the live of me remember who it was.
Pity, as these are the best repro's I've seen. They even beat the Eastman boots as the shape of the nose on these are spot on, where Eastmans boots are a bit too pointy.

My email archives don't reveal anything either. Very puzzling as they go back to 2005...
He gave me a set of repro leather embossed puller tab labels to add to my own (Eastman) 1936 pattern boots, so I should have the email correspondence...

Maybe he's still active on the forum?

I remember that thread. The bloke was also considering doing 39 pattern boots. However, I thought it never happened as it didn't prove cost effective?

Chris K might know, as if the thread was deleted then he would know.

Yeah, these were NOT Aero or Motorcowboy, and I don't own a pair, these are the pics from the original thread that I saved for reference since the boots were so good. Pity I didn't have the money at the time, now that I do it's an even greater pity that the maker can't be found. Help us, Obi-wan Toine, you're our only hope

Here's the rest of the pics from the orig thread if anyone is interested:

Sure would love a pair of these!

A few years ago I had a Star Wars theme party and I attended as Obi-Twan! (My name is pronounced Twan)
Huge success that!

I hope you'll (and maybe we'll) have success at this one as I love the boots as well.
The thread was there but searches don't seem to go back much further than September 2008. Maybe it was archived?

// Chris, do you have archives of previous threads?
If so, can you maybe find the threads and/or email address of the forum member in question?

Ah, then I should have said Obi-Toine Kenobi...

Hopefully we can find the maker of these boots, they really are the best I've seen for a repro, I was holding out to see what WPG's product would be like and was a bit disappointed.

Cheers!

Help me Obi-wan Toine (or Obi Toine Kenobi), you're our only hope <img height="14" alt="wink.gif" src="http://www.network54.com/images/wink.gif" width="14">

Hahah! I haven't laughed so much today! (sorry, imagining Toine [from his picture] wearing SD and flight gear, but with robes and a lightsaber! )

I too was dissapointed by WPG's offering. I had never seen these pictures, but they certainly look good.

Incidentally, I have a pair of 36 boots but they aren't AM marked and are too good to be repros. When compared to an AM marked pair they are indistinguishable.  Are these private purchase?

If I remember correctly, ( it was david Ross at Ross Boots) spoke to hime a good few years back, and was told that it wouldn't be cost effective.
At the time they were also doing repro WW1 boots, and bespoke hiking boots.
They are/were in Devon, so try a Google?

Hope this helps.
Be nice to see if he could be persuaded, as they were very good.
I would seriously avoid Motorcowboy, based on painful personal experience.

Not quite sure it was Ross boots.
I talked to Ross boots as well and he sort of acknowledged he made the boots for Aeroleathers.
The boots on his website certainly were identical to Aeroleathers' boots.

I don't recall the forum-member ever mentioning who made them.

Hopefully Chris can shed some light on the matter.

Cheers, Toine
