This is a massive "on the off-chance ask" but does anyone have just the alloy shell for the C Type mic that is in need of restoration?

As a matter of fact, I do indeed!
But the idea is that after restoration, it's still mine

It's been retrieved up from the bottom of the former Zuiderzee. Come to think of it, I'm not even the owner, I have borrowed it...
It has no parts or anything, just the shell and it's been rather warped in the crash.

What were you planning?

Cheers, Toine

If there was a decent shell going spare somewhere I'd have re-covered it as necessary. I've got the actual microphone component which includes the switch, it just needs a screw in the top and bottom (holding the "constant transmit" and wiring loom attachment point respectively) to hold it in place.

Are the internals of the C carbon mic the same as in a type 27 carbon mic? I'm not sure but I think I read somewhere that they are. If it is the case, that might be the way forward for you Toine, find a type 27 and rob the internal parts.

The mic itself is the same, but this one has integral structures such as the switch and mounting bar that the ping pong mic doesn't.
