Could anybody tell me the correct distance up from the pocket an aircrew brevet should be worn on the uniform without medal ribbons please. Also presumably centred on the pocket button?

Without checking a reference book, I'm pretty sure it's one-half inch above the top of the pocket. The brevet is centered on the pocket.

According to Dress Regulations, the half wings were worn:

'...on the service dress jacket and if no ribbons of orders, decorations or medals are worn, is to be placed immediately above the top line of the left breast pocket, the letters being vertical and directly above the button. When ribbons are worn the badge is to be similarly placed directly above the centre of the row, or top row, of ribbons, with a space of 1/4 inch between the lowest part of the badge and the upper edge of the ribbons.'
