In recent times I've come to think that it's rather unfair to criticise how people spend their own money. I suspect that I also know the buyer very well and therefore I know that it is the only piece of '25 webbing they need to complete the last variant set in their collection - and by variant I include all permutations of OA and Officer's webbing in complete sets.

If you've got the financial security to enjoy collecting then by all means use it. Good luck and well done if you don't find that you have to pay that kind of money for stuff.

I agree with you Ric, although I think its rarely critisism, just a lot of surprise! A few of us have echoed your comments before - 'Its what its worth to me...' sort of thing. As long as it doesnt set a price...

My initial post about it was more to the fact that I had three of these about 4 years ago, all dated but mint and unused, and I sold them for about a tenner each as they were pre my collecting era. If I'd known he was after one, he could have had mine!

Sorry I missed Hendon the other day Ric, hope you had a good one.

Indeed. Furhermore, this isn't much over what I've seen them go for previously on ebay, and considering the early date and condition, I would say this isn't far from what I'd expected it to go for - I'd have been more suprised if it had gone for £150 then £350
