that's awesomeBarefoot9troyer wrote: Update. Have for the most part kept the weight off and continue to. A year later and had some blood work done, I have a clean bill of health. Cholesterol and triglycerides are at a very healthy level. I think I have finally nipped this in the bud. Doctor said go easy or else I would be put back on meds to control that. The biggest killer he said is sugary drinks like soft drinks. Have to be honest, have not had a Pepsi, Coca Cola or Dr Pepper in well over a year. Don't think I will ever drink that again. Too much sugar and too many empty calories. Not even diet tastes good to me. Lately all I drink now is coffee. As for beer consumption, got to keep it only to a minimal and on weekends. Can still enjoy a couple, but just enough.
The one thing I learned from all this was I let myself go for years. I had the worst diet. I was not eating enough of the foods that were beneficial to my health. I was downing too many beers in a week with a very poor diet and that is not a good combo. In addition I was not exercising or was not as active as I should be. In addition this was effecting my overall mood and energy which was low, sluggish, miserable and just being an all around jerk. Today I feel like I have more energy and much happier then I was a year ago. I am happier at work and feel I am performing better. If that isn't motivation to keep the weight off, I don't know what is.
