Congratulations to Annalise Gilbert & Gus Williams (HOLEY DOLLAR RUM) who have taken secured the 13 Foot Skiff Australian Titles at Drummoyne before the final day today. Even more impressively, they have dominated and won every race to have a perfect score of 6 bullets. It has been a parade all week of both Holey Dollar Rum and the best 16, Brydens, finishing within a couple of hundred metres of each other in every race, with huge leads of the remainder of their respective fleets.
As with the 16s, 2nd place will be closely fought out today. Chris Stenta & Matt Ivshenko (NAMOTU ISLAND FIJI) are 1 point ahead of Felix Daverio & Michael Childs (BIGFOOT BAGS & COVERS), who are 1 point ahead of Angus Buick & Tom Koerner (EXHIBITIONCO). Namotu may have secured it in yesterday's race, however, collided with a 16 foot skiff, a Hobie Cat and then another 16 foot skiff. It showed amazing boat speed to still only miss out on 2nd place by 10 seconds. Rumours are that Bigfoot and ExhibitionCo might pay others to take Namotu out again today.
Kaih Hodgkinson (BOB JANE) leads both David McKay (DATA#3) and Namotu by only 1 point in the Handicap Trophy. A perfect Sydney day of 28 degrees and moderate nor-easter will be the frame for a great day to cap off a very enjoyable regatta.
