Basic Package vs. Premium PackageQ: What are the differences between Basic and Premium Package? A: Premium Package includes all features found in Basic Package, in addition it also includes Google Analytics integration and Color Customization options. Premium Package allows you to engage with our engineering resources to further customize the app at $50US/hour. Q: How much customizing will I be able to do on my own? I have good php knowledge but unsure how much is part of the app vs. the PHP plugin? A: The app is a complied app you will not be able to customize it on your own. It will be very few change you can do on the server-side if the app is not customized. Q: Will I be able to alter design elements from the PHP? Such as Color and CSS Style? A: The app is developed with iOS and Android native code and does not support CSS. Color Customization is included in Premium Rebranding Package. Q: Will the Tapatalk app able to connect to my forum? I would like my app as the exclusive way to access my form on mobile. A: Yes, as long as you do not activate your forum in our directory, or you can simply remove your forum record in our directory if you are no longer wish current Tapatalk users to access your forum. Q: Do I need to have my own Apple App Store / Google Android Market account? A: Yes, you need to have your own respective accounts to host your app. Q: Can I sell my app in App Store or Android Market? A: Yes, and all revenue goes to you. Q: What is the turn-around time to get the app delivered to me? A: It takes approximately 10 business days, depends on our work schedule. Q: What is the total license cost if I want both iOS and Android app for my forum? A: You will require to purchase three licenses. For Basic Package the total cost is $1,798US ($799 x 2). For Premium Package the total cost is $4,298US ($3,499 + $799). Subsequence license is only $799US for Premium Package customer. Q: Can I pay only portion of the fee and pay the rest when the app goes online? A: Full payment is required at up-front. Q: Can I earn revenue from mobile advertisement? A: Yes, we support Admob and Google DFP. Q: Do you support other mobile advertisement provider? A: We only offer customization services for Premium Package customers. Q: What about app upgrade? A: You can request to update your app at any time, we charge $50US/hour engineering fee to upgrade. A typical update takes about 3-4 hours per app. Q: Why don't you provide app update for free? A: We do not provide free update as we do not offer annual subscription service. Q: I have multiple forums, can I combine them within one app? A: Only Premium Package customer can request to combine multiple forums within one app. Q: Do you provide any discount? A: We do not provide discount. We do not have special pricing for non-profit and education institute. Q: Can I upgrade to Premium Package from Basic Package? A: Yes, you can upgrade it when you decide to advance your app with more features and customization. An upgrade price is essentially the price difference between the Basic and Premium package. Q: Does it support Google Analytics? A: Only Premium Package customer can request Google Analytics for Mobile App support. If you need basic usage monitoring, you can simply configure your web server to monitor the Tapatalk API end-point at mobiquo/mobiquo.php. Q: What are the payment methods? A: We accept Paypal and international wire transfer. Q: Can you describe what "Advanced Customization Options" would include? A: It does not include any customization instead it is a special privilege allows you to hire our in-house engineer for any customization work. We do not provide any customization for Basic Rebranding customer, including color customization. Q: I have purchased the Premium Package, what are the procedures of engaging our engineers for customization quotation? A: We will give you a high-level estimation of work given you provided a details requirement. Please be noted that we do not provide server-side customization. We also require customer to purchase a minimum of 20 hours of work bucket before any customization to be started. |
Tapatalk EngineQ: What is a Tapatalk Engine? A: Tapatalk Engine is a complied iOS or Android library allows you to integrate forum module within your existing mobile app. Q: What is the communication protocols and programming languages used in the Tapatalk Engine and Forum communication? A: We use XML-RPC over our in-house Tapatalk API. Q: Is Tapatalk Engine also capable of transferring binary data, such as video, audio and graphics? A: The Engine provides exactly the same interface and features as in our Tapatalk app. Currently Tapatalk app supports uploading image as an forum attachment. Q: Does the library contain only compiled package? or it comes with source code as well? A: A complied package with a sample project in Xcode (iOS) or Eclipse (Android) format will be delivered. We do not provide source code. Q: Is it possible for my own developer to create new functions such as Voting on top of Tapatalk Engine? A: Since the Tapatalk Engine is a complied library, your developer will not able to customize the engine further, however we provide customization service for $50US/hour. You can also consider adding the functions within your app, outside the Tapatalk Engine. Q: Does the Taptalk Engine comes with set of documentation and guideline? A: The Engine comes with a sample project - since it is a simple API call with only a single entry point, there is no documentation but the sample code itself is self-explanatory. Q: Can you provide a sample app that has Tapatalk Engine integrated? A: Yes, you can download The College Confidential mobile app for free on iOS which has Tapatalk Engine integrated. Q: The "Rebranding Service" can provide user a free apps on Apple Store / Android Market. Does Tapatalk Engine provide the same authority to distribute a free customized app? A: Yes. Q: Can I integrate the same engine to my portfolio of apps with only one license? A: The Tapatalk Engine license, same as other license, is per forum and per app basis, you are required to purchase additional license for $799US. Q: What about on-going support? A: We provide free technical support via our support forum with approx. 3 days turn-around time (we usually response within 24 hours). We can also schedule occasional Skype call if needed, support hours are charged at $50US/hour. Google Admob & DFPQ: What are the differences between Admob and DFP? A: Admob is ideal if you want a simple mobile advertisement solution without setting up an AdSense account with Google. In addition to banner ads monetization, Admob allows you to run your in-house banners to be displayed in your app. Google DFP is a business solution for AdSense, it provides a more advanced management interface for site-owner to manage both Web and Mobile advertisement within a single environment. Q: Can I run both Admob and Google DFP in app? A: No. Our app runs on either Admob and DFP, and will take DFP as precedence if both settings are provided by forum owner. Q: I want to target different banners for different sub-form in my site. Does your app support it? A: Yes we support Custom Targeting with DFP setup. We send both "forum_id" and/or "thread_id" whenever possible. You'll need to perform the respective setup within your DFP console as well. Q: What are the banner sizes it support and where will they be displayed? A: For Admob we support 320x50 banner to be shown at the bottom of the thread and private message view. We will also replace the banner in iPad with a bigger size of 728x90 that Admob provides. For Google DFP, we offer the same sizing and placement as the Admob setup, in addition you can add a 300x250 banner to be shown at the bottom of the thread, scrolling along with the posts in the page. |
