I installed TapTalk last night on http://www.skyscrapercity.com. The forum is massive, and has somewhere around 2000 subforums.

The users that have tried it out are complaining because the initial load time when you first visit the forum takes several minutes. Is there any way to reduce this?

iPhone and iPod so far. I'm trying to get others to test it on other platforms

The extreme initial loading time is the main reason why we're not promoting this feature. Bit odd that it doesn't seem anyone here cares about the big board issue. You'd reckon that's where the bulk of the potential app buyers are.

Can anybody of the tapatalk team be bothered to reply to or look into this issue?

In fact, we start working on this.

We already decrease the loading time on android app about 50%! and we still looking for more improvemnt.

On iphone, we will start improve this after the coming release. I am not sure how fast is acceptable, but we will make it as fast as we can reach.

Sorry been a bit of quiet time but we have been using your forum as benchmark to see how we can cut down the time. It seems you have a hm... very complex sub-forum structure..

In any case we are going to implement a caching strategy so at least you only feel the pain once. It took more than 90 seconds on my first gen iPod Touch

The upcoming iPhone app (pending Apple approval) will improve the performance. Now it should take less than 3 seconds to load up, compare to over a minute in current version.
