    Hi guys,

    Many suggestions:

1/ It would be useful to have the choice to copy the topic URL that we are visiting. Sometimes we have to put this URL in a topic to redirect users.

2/ In posts, when we click on a forum URL (link to topic, post, profile membre) it would be useful that this action open the good page in the tapatalk application and not in the browser tapatalk as actually.

3/ I remind this other idea already submited ;)

    Thanks per advance ;)

    Thanks Elglobo..

Yes the copy and paste feature is an much needed option and we aware of it. This will impact our current "Edit" and "Quote" UI interaction and we have yet to figure out the better way to rearrange the UI. Do you have any suggestion?

We can add the action "Copy URL Topic" or "Copy URL profile", or simply "Copy URL of actual page " to the list of actions already available Refresh, Add to bookmmarks, Reply to topic, etc ...)

    What do you think ?

I don't know how that URL copy will work with those of us with vbseo or something of that nature. Maybe it won't have any impact at all I'm not sure.

    What say you winter?

Oh winter another suggestion would be have the quote and edit buttons present in each post just as vb mobile themes have it. That way a double tap would only bring up the copy function.

Or u can make it so a swipe from left to right brings up the quote and edit options. Eventually right to left could bring up moderator options. :)

We have been thinking about something along the same line too. But I am afraid a lot of people will not find out how to use it.

Maybe we add an quote and edit icon under the avatar?

other apps ive use has an how to feature. yeah i thought about peeps that are used to using it the way it is now. i figured with word of mouth and forum owners informing their users it may not be as bad as we think. also if u put it in the upgrade description maybe that will help some too.

either way things change all the time with programs the users just have to figure out how either by trial and error or asking some one.

Instead of copying, why don't we provide an option to open the same thread in safari? :)

That would work but its a bit of a tactical solution. Another app, SimplyTweet uses the left to right swipe to bring up options - personally I dont think that would be a problem for end users :)

With multi-touch, there are tons of possibility. :)

Call me conservative, I notice users have already a hard time to find out how to reply to a thread by not able to find the reply button. It make the team here a bit hesitate to make the UI less than intuitive, and then add some old fashion how-to screen to teach them how to use a phone? man...

Having that said I really like the idea of the right to left swipe to trigger the Edit/Quote option, and reserve the left-to-right swipe for future moderation. I think we can support this but perhaps we need to patch it with an alert to educate users this function does exist.

But this also conflict with iFonz suggestion few months ago (now you believe me that we do write them all down :D ) that he wants to jump to previous/next page with a simple swipe instead of scrolling to the bottom to hit the "next page" button. What's your take guys?

If user simply want to view the thread in safari, why don't we add an option "View in Safari" in the same menu list that you mentioned? It's doable.
  15. Elglobo Super Moderator

User don't want to view the thread simply but copy URL of a thread or other page of forum, to paste this URL in a post for a example ...

Noted. Let us put it in the to-do list so we can look into it.

Elglobo's #1 suggestion here seems to have been completely ignored.

i.e. make the links to a thread on a forum open in tapatalk rather than in safari/whatever.

This is my #2 gripe about tapatalk

I was looking for this option in Tapatalk and came across this thread in my search. How does one get the thread link, to post in another thread or pm a user?
  19. winter Tapatalk Master

There is a "Copy URL" and "Copy Post Content" function within the app, look around :)

The function to copy URL is under the reply button top left, then choose more, then share, then copy URL!

It is buried a little deep but easily located when needed.

I would like to add that opening a URL to a different thread within the app instead of in safari would be most excellent.

Especially because when I click a link someone posted to another thread in the same forum, if safari opens and I am not logged in to that forumn in safari (iPhone version) , then I do not actually get to the referenced thread/post but rather to a login page. This is somewhat frustrating even if it has nothing to do with tapatalk functionality.
