Would it be difficult to impliment this?some sort if button or function that allows the reader to report a post when mobile? Would be really handy
Let's keep this discussion alive meanwhile we are still trying to get the basic functions completed. Personally I think adding a soft-delete button would be more helpful as administrator / moderator can at least hide the spam and manage it later on when they are on desktop.
Great you guys are thinking about this. Soft delete does not work with phpbb3 Post deletion sounds like a idea however would need several safeguards on phpbb. For me, I think this still leaves a gap for basic end user forum experience, that's how to I report this post/thread to the mod team if there is something I'm unsure of Could be the post should not be deleted but needs editing on a web browser. If the only tool you have is a delete function, suddenly all that happens is deletes Great we can talk about this
I think a "report bad post" option would be a great addtion as well. Sometimes a member (that doesn't have mod capabilities) will be browsing the forum using the app and see a spam post or a post in the wrong area. Currently there's no way to let a moderator or admin know about the post. Any chance this could get added in future versions? Maybe a post menu could come up if you tap and HOLD a specific post with some post options (including permission based moderation options if you're a moderator?). This post menu could include a report bad post option for all members.
Thanks Rodney, speaking about coincidence.. I have updated our internal development API for this new feature and hopefully our fellows can take care of it real soon. But the TODO list is getting longer and longer
I still say focus on our end users first before admins and moderators. Adding any features for moderators and above Is going to open the flood gates for people requesting more mod actions. Besides if u can do a soft delete u may as well add physical deletion at the same time. I don't like doing things twice myself. So I'd never soft delete something I want to physicaly delete later. I only soft delete here so u guys can see how bad slam is at times. If I removed it physically you wouldn't know how bad Spam gets at times. Speaking of which.
