I'd love to have the feature of a push notification of at least new pms. I would pay a realistic subscription fee for this.

    Thanks,
    Alan

Wow - you guys are developing push?

This app would rule with push! :)

basic design and server-side coding is done just waiting for the iPhone app to become a bit more stable. give us sometime and we will be there.

still a bit concern about the potential server-load as it can get pretty costly to manage. but this feature is something we want to see it happen ASAP for the longest time and it's one of the reason we started the Tapatalk project.

Awesome, distribute the projected architecture costs over the projected app sales and charge accordingly + overhead, it will work out pence

Really glad you guys are developing this, its my new number 1 app :)

Yeah but how. Say I have 5 forums I use tapatalk for. I'm guessing push will work for new private messaging and responses to threads subsribed to.
We will get a notification saying "you have recieved a new PM on ? same for replies to subscribed thread? Will I get one for every reply or Just one for the first unread reply? Then once I enter thread it starts over again. I don't want a notification for each reply untill I read it.

Will each forum in favorites tab have a number badge on it letting us know the total number of notifications for each individual forum? So if I have 4 unread pms and 10 threads were replied to that I subscribed to the badge number for that paticular forum would be 14.

Then the badge on tapatalk app would have the total number of all forums with a notification.

For example if I have 5 forums in ny fav tab and 4 of thise forums each hace 3 new notifications in each of them. Would the badge on tapatalk display 12 or 4. 12 being the total number of notifications on all forums. 4 being the total number of each forum with new notifications?

Maybe a weird thought, but isn't that the point of instant email notifications? Push would be cool, I totally agree, and I wouldn't complain if notifications were sent directly to my phone for replies to topics I've posted on, but I thought that's what the forums have "instant email notification" for.

very good point. I think it is just another choice and that's why you use Tapatalk instead of Safari??

Instant emails have overhead and are also delivered by a different mechanism. Push would enable direct app communication with a little overhead. Its offering the consumer choice which I think is great...

This is a nice feature and we're still looking into potential server-load from our server. There are third-party push providers like urbanairship.com to provide push infrastructure service for $0.001 per push and I hope we can create a in house one that is more affordable. :)

We have already implemented PM Notification on Android, and it's free of charge.

iPhone support is still a moving target but we do intend to provide this.

It's been a year and yet no notifications. You know you should have used Boxcar for Push, right? Boxcar does have API...

How can you offer it on the Android app and not the iPhone/iPad app?

I believe it's pull notifications not push on Android. Please correct me if I am wrong.
