We are planning a boarder feature where it allows you to take picture and upload the photo to your site as attachment, like covering a live event!

That's a cool idea. It doesn't seem like there would need to be too much to the attachments thing because most users aren't going to have access to anything but pics to upload from the iPhone.

This is the most important feature I would like to see. When do you expect to have this functionality?

I would also like to know the status of this. We are hesitant to announce this to all of our memebers without image attachment support.

    thanks,
    Alex...

Do you want push notification first or image attachment first? Just wondering? :D

    for me

    picture upload

push is cool, ive lived with out it for ages with the iphone. but ive been able to upload pics from my phone from the beginning.

peeps want to add pics to threads

peeps want to add pics from their phone as an avatar and profile pic.

no one has asked for push.

How Long For Attachment Upload Feature

I am back again after a few months and there seems to be no progress on this which si really dispointing!!

Frankly if either VBulletin or TapaTalk do not get cracking and "truly Iphone enable" the forums then the entire product will fall by the wayside as the huge and ever developing social networking sites assume the meaningful functionality of VBulletin.

As an example, I used Pixster while traveling recently to continuously update my Facebook account with photos and GPS locations while my VBulletin forums received nothing.

I sincerely hope that the VBulletin development community reads the handwriting on the wall before it's too late.

    pjc,

good thing takes time to engineer :) and we are taking a much needed summer break so the team here can revitalize when we enter September. Expect to see this happen very soon!

BTW it was only a bit more than a month since you last visited, and we missed you too :D

To be proactive ya might want to consider releasing some type of schedule and functionality info.

How were u ignored or belittled?

I thought his response was pretty good considering u baucally said they havnt done shit.

If u were a bit more no a lot more proactive in the development of the app u would know how hard the tapatalk team has worked the past 4 to 6 months.

I do wish there was some kind of timeline for future functionality. But then we all would complain when they fell behind so I can understand y they have not yet.

    Folks,

Don't get me wrong I am more eager to get all these done and i think it is long overdue too. Please come back here next month after you received a beta distribution from us via email.

Schedule is a moving target and judging from our past records.. hm.. not good.

The only thing I can commit is pagination-support will be on store next month.

    I sure will!

There is a discussion about this on VBulletin.com right now that expands the concept to all mobile devices. I believe that the solution is an API and not a skin. The mobile apps need to be trimmed of transaction steps as much as in graphic load to be really successful.

Without this functionality in Vb, the functionality of the app will soon be included in the behemoth sized, social networking sites along with their existing mobile friendly interfaces and that will be the path to demise for stand alone social networking suites like vB.

    Interesting discussion.

What I can tell everyone here is that our vision is not only iPhone, we want to, intend to, and in fact has started development on other devices. At the same time to continuously upgrading the current app and its missing feature. We choose iPhone for the first device not so much about the potential revenue (though that's help), instead it does provide all the tools we need to built the thing we envision.

And we are not doing it as a hobby - we have full time staffs work on this project and is committed in doing it.

Can u provide a link to this thread.

I don't think vb sites will fall of cause of social networking sites. Forums offer me something sites like facebook and myspace don't. I've never been able to get into their forums.
