How to Install .Apk Apps on Google Android G1 Phone

1. Download attached .apk file and trandser to micro SD card.

2. Download and Install Astro File Manager from the Android Market.
3. This opens a view showing *.apk application names in the sdcard root directory.(note, if no AppNames are listed you have no .apk files in the root directory of the SDCard)
4.Touch the app icon to initiate installation of the app.

5. Touch "Open App Manager" button.

6. Click install

NOTE

Go to Application Settings, check Unknown Sources to allow installation of applications not sourced in android market.

If you dont you will recieve the following notification.

For security my phone is set to block installation of applications not sourced in android market.

An even easier way to install Android apps from a gmail message.....

Install APKatcher from the market (it's free). With that, any Android apps that come as attachments in your Gmail.....you can install them directly from within your gmail app by simply clicking the "preview" button. Takes less than 30 seconds.
