Hey,
This app seems to be a perfect solution for browsing forums on the iPhone. Any chance you guys could get it working on 3.6.8? I know it's 2 versions old at this point, but it does everything I need it to do and there are template/theme issues with 3.7.x and 3.8.x for us. It's not that I can't upgrade, it's that it's time consuming which is something I don't have a lot of these days (18 month old at home and a real job).

Iis it even possibly for you to make this work on 3.6.x (I'm specifically running 3.6.8)? If so, I'd think you guys would stand to make a lot more on app sales if you opened this up to more vB owners. We've got 18,291 threads, 370,449 posts, 790 members of which 199 are active and ~50 have iPhones... But beyond myself, the largest canon (the camera company) board online is also running 3.6.x and as a member there, I'd love to be able to suggest it to them. They've got 150k+ members! In my case alone you'd make more from the immediate app sales from my members than what the upgrade costs me (and you'd get $3 from me as well).

Thanks!

Hi Ben,

It is not so much about the immediate app sales but the associated support and on-going cost to support an older version. We would love to support it but at this point of time we just have no choice but stick our resources to something else that is more immediate. Perhaps you can look into upgrading to vB 3.8? It shouldn't take you more than a few evening? :D

Thanks for your compliment of our app though

it's not just about me though. I can understand other priorities (android etc.) but check out this site:

tell me you don't want to tap into that market. ;)

so will it EVER happen? Can it happen? Regardless of me upgrading, you WILL lose potential customers w/o supporting 3.6.x, so I'm just wondering if I should wait it out personally.

uhh thats a lot of users hahaha

i wouldn't even upgrade to 3.8 with 4.0 coming out if i was still 3.6.8. i upgraded because of this app. it was a lot of work on my end but it was worth it in the end.

i peeped that cannon site, what type of mods and edits do they have that keeps them from upgrading. it seems pretty basic from the home page.

I don't want to say thing in a definite manner but likely we won't have the resource to make it backward compatible. Check with Fonz he can help you upgrading it to 3.8 he has first hand experience. :D
