Bring it on.. These will all get implemented but time and resource is always in constraint. We're working on the Private Messaging, and keep tweaking the UI so that it is easier to navigate when you have hundreds of posts within a topic...

facebook connect for each forum. there is already a mod that lets you do it on vb.org. doing it via the app would be nice too.

also being able to register via the app seems like something that should be priority. would make getting new members a lot easier also. users could use the facebook connect to create new accounts also

We are looking into putting a button somewhere and to redirect user to your register.php page in safari. What do you think?

Hi iFonz,

You don't get kicked-out, it will ask you if you want to exit the app, just like when you tap the URL link in the Thread viewing screen. :)

Admin backend on the web side to set a few options. For instance, excluding forums from appearing via Tapatalk, ability to alter the 'Sent via Tapatalk' signature. I'd much rather have something in font point 1 at the top of the post saying 'Posted wirelessly using Tapatalk via iPhone' or something. Many forums have this for posts that were posted via mobile web browsers and it looks quite nice.

For the signature part yes we aware of the limitation, the next build will allow user to turn this completely off in "Settings". Anyway we took note on your suggestion. Thank you.

my wishes:

-ability to shut off the "sent from iphone" tagline.
-Maybe in the future, the option to pay more to remove the tapatalk branding and have an official app for my BB...in other words, it's still tapatalk, but branded with my forum's information, and downloadable in the app store under our name. Might be an extra revenue stream for you guys.

Yes you can turn this completely off via the "Settings" in iPhone, or is this not working??

Regarding the branded app, yes we received many requests and are aware of this. We will revisit it perhaps few weeks after the app is launch from the store.

I totally agree that making it feel more private to a site is a much better idea and something I personally would prefer.

- Maybe in the meantime an alternative is to have an automatic sign-in to a particular favorite forum.
- I would definitely like to see a chat.
- Have the option to edit "sent from ......" text.
- Editing a post is a MUST.
- Changing the main icons of each forum "instead of the little microphone"

We have to find a way to incorporate a hidden forum support system. I have tabs on my forum that call hidden forums. This is to keep the front page looking clean. These are simply images with a href statement that calls the forum ID. Without being able to see all the forums this is only good for new post and non-hidden forums.

What say you?

I would love to see the option to display the year as part of the post timestamp. Especially once you enable a search function, it will be very important to display the year.

And of course, increasing user settings is a must, including default number of posts displayed, the default message appended to a post (this one could also be controlled server side).

If you wish to attract some of the bigger, commercial forums, making sure that tapatalk access to vbulletin is noted by google analytics is a must. That is the number one way we determine usage statistics and would decide whether we wish to continue supporting and advertising tapatalk.

I've also mentioned elsewhere, admincp control of most of the settings is also important in the long run.

Push notification for new replies made in subscribed threads.

Ability to post and/or vote on polls and have the results show, although I'm sure this would be a difficult one to implement.

When selecting on a user's threads and posts from their user page, going exactly to that thread/post and not to the top of the forum where that thread/post exists, which is the behavior now.

Somehow letting one know if there have been any new threads/posts made in their favorite forums. Maybe placing the number badge on top of the forums icon listing the total number of threads & posts. This lets the user know to go in to a particular forum to look for new threads/posts, aided by the above suggestion of the 'blue dot' for unread threads & posts.

My users have been trying out the app, and the four biggest requests are to edit their thread, quote a previous post, save a draft of posts being written, and to be able to interact and edit our installation of Nuwiki (http://www.controlbooth.com/forums/cb-wiki/) (we call it the CB-Wiki).

No, I meant a little more functionality than that. Starting with 3.7.3, vB added a lot of social networking goodies, and my members at both sites use them like kids eating candy.

Yeah that would significantlly add to the app and give it a more social networking feel. That seems like a large task to add on top of what they need to add/fix already. But I like that idea.

Could model it after myspace or facebook. Wow this app has a lot of potential. I'm curious what their shor term and long term goals are as far as new features.

Access to the calendar is big for my users, and use of the "Social Groups" features in 3.8 is growing. I've got a mod installed for private calendars for social groups but there are so many addons and modules it's probably not reasonable to expect support for too many of these.

Picture albums would be nice too. We don't use private messages all that much.

As far as I have heard, private message support has made it through development and will be a in a future version. As for mod support... I am sure that they will try their best but how could they possibly add support for ALL of the thousands of MODs that are available to vBulletin owners...?

How about making the signature look less like a line of the post and more like a signature? Perhaps small font with a dotted line above or something?

I am not too satisfied with the way currently setup but we are thinking of a better way for sure. Inserting bbcode is tedious to manage in multiple languages support

- Push notifications for PMs (already in development)
- BCC field for PMs
- Direct link to chosen forum on homescreen (or you can select a default forum that loads on launch)
- Change wording in General Settings to: "Show 'Sent from Tapatalk' signature" instead of "Show signature". As this could mean your vB sig or the Tapatalk sig
- Customisable Tapatalk signature??
- Allow phone numbers to be linked to phone. I.e. be able to call numbers direct from the forum
- Allow email addresses to be linked to phone. I.e. be able to email direct from the forum
- Quotes in replys for posts and PMs
- Swipe to delete posts for Admin/Mods
- Sticky/unsticky for Admin/Mods

-Upload a picture from the camera
-Upload a "Where am I" link to your forum
-A page to show Subscribed posts on the tapatalk app main screen, this would gather the subsribed post from all your favorites forums in one page
-shake to refresh
-show newest posts/threads first on the "My Info" page
-Option to change the default number of posts/threads to show from 10 to some other number (25?). Put this option on a settings page in the app, so if you leave a wifi area to go to edge/3g you don't have to exit the app to change the setting and then relaunch

I'm not completly used to the latest threads thong either. I'd rather newest uread posts.

The latest tab was pretty close to what showed as new posts on my forum though.

i love that it now has pages that use to urk me.. and i wouldnt even touch app because of that...

when u click latest post.. even the threads that uve already read appear there
to me its annoying going to check for new post and having to sift through threads that u already read

BB Code is a pretty big part of vb/phpbb3..needs to be implemented not only while posting a post/thread.. but also while reading a post..

Customization... i think it would be nice for forum owners to be able to customize the colors for their site... would give the app a little bit more personalization... right now the colors are pretty drab

the bb code is nice but there are more important things such as pic attachments and being able to register via the app. FACEBOOK CONNECT would be perfect for that and facebook has made that an easy task. dont know why it hasn't been added.

i dont care about customizing the app for my forum just yet. i want the basics frist then the cosmetic stuff. we can change forum icons now. looks pretty good when u got the right icons. check tapatalks icons

I just bought the app for the iPhone. It's well done in an organizational sense, but it's not a replacement for the web interface yet due to two features I use frequently being missing. At least one of these has already been requested in this thread, but I thought I'd reiterate for emphasis.

• Subscribed forums - There's already a tab at the top of the Favorites page called "Subscribed", but it only shows subscribed threads. Another tab could be added for subscribed forums with a blue dot indicator for each forum with unread posts.

• The ability to mark all posts in a forum read.

There are also some nice-to-haves:

• Landscape support, mainly for reading long thread titles in a forum without opening the threads.

• Jumping to the first new post when selecting a thread.

If you are referring to the iPhone version when you click the home button on your phone that basically is exit, also apply does not allow apps to run in the background

Andrew here. I have the app installed on two forums, both vB4 and I love it. Using the iPhone client on my end.

There's only a few things I could really suggest adding...
- Moderation tools: for those of us who admin/mod forums, it's a real pain seeing a spam post, exiting the client, logging into our site via a browser, finding the post then deleting it. Would it be possible to have an administrative set of tools?

- Landscape format: I would

This feature is already on iPhone.. what we plan to do in BB is the allow you to jump to the specific sub-forum by typing part of the name on the keypad so u can find your sub-forum more easily.

I second that! I noticed 'winter' already accepted the challenge in june - any update on the issue? :)

Furthermore - as this is something i haven't seen in this thread already - a lot of forums give me a headache, because they contain like a zillion sub-forums, when i read only like 3 of them. On the tapatalk-page for "unread messages", i have to scroll through all of those "useless"-posts to select the few i want to read.

Either having a client-side filtering (display only messages in certain sub-forums), or - even better regarding bandwidth - a server-side filtering. Any user would need to "subscribe to" the forums they like on their device and would be set. If none is selected, default to current behaviour.

I would love to see that implemented, or being directed to where i can find that already :)

I recently bought tapatalk for iPhone, and I love it. Here are a few things I would love to see;

1. Push notifications for PMs. This would come in handy all the time. It would be so much easier than going and having to check the app every 5mins

2. Live topic (for forums that support it) not sure if this is possible, but it would be better than pressing the refresh all the time.

3. Edit avatars from your mobile device: the ability to upload avatars from the device you are using

I just installed and tested Tapatalk for a phpbb3 forum (dedicated to discussion of a popular new book series) and noticed that all our 'spoiler' content in threads was revealed when using Tapatalk. So I'm requesting support for 1-2 popular phpbb bbcode plugins like Prime Bbcode Spoiler (http://www.absoluteanime.com/admin/mods.htm#bbcode_spoiler) .

i redo my android evo everyday. I then reinstall all my apps again. I would like to have a login similar to google listen that will remember my sites and have them so i dont need to reenter them everyday. That feature should be apart of the pro version that i paid for. It would be priceless. Also more sites like sprintusers and androidguys.

Haven't read the full thread. Great app! I'd like to see the ability to quickly return to the threads you were viewing. A history of viewed threads would do the trick. It would also be nice to see the app remembering he last viewed thread automatically when it closes and return to it when it opens. Same for the post in every thread - to remember the last viewed post when leaving or changing threads! I'd like it to open new threads from the start, not the end when when a thread is opened for the first time and when there are no unread posts. This isn't in the options. A search feature would be very handy. These updates will make it a killer app for me. Thank you.

I just purchased the app for my iPhone, and love it. There were a handful of forums that I'm a member of which support it, and a few others are likely going to be supporting it in the near future.

Anyways, I looked backwards through this thread until 2009, and did not see anything on this subject. When you go into one of the forums you are registered to, you go to the unread posts view. There is one forum that I can go for a day and there may be 20 unread posts... but the others can have upwards of 100 unread posts checking in multiple times a day.

When you get to the end of the first list of posts (25 or 50; can't remember off the top of my head), you have to swap, hold, and release to show the next block of posts. Could you either make it an option to use the push to expand button, like on the network search page, or just go with that? I just find that action a little awkward when you can scroll down and just tap a button. The past few days I've been using Tapatalk, I've had some trouble expanding the unread posts due to it. Not a huge issue, but just something I see as a little different than what I’m accustomed to with the iPhone.

Add the option for a PIN code upon starting the app or selecting it from the multitasking bar. This is how DropBox works so that unauthorized users can't get to the files. In the case of Tapatalk it would help ensure that unauthorized users don't start making random posts.

A couple of features I'd love to see:

1. Exclude particular sub forums from the Latest tab. A white or black list would do.
2. Mark individual threads as read from the thread list, so you don't have to either mark all as read, or go into a thread and back out. A simple swipe gesture on a thread in the list, similar to the standard ‘Swipe to delete’ gesture would be excellent.

1. Better handling of posts written using OS X's Smart Quotes feature. Currently, when editing or replying to any post with a Smart Quote in it, Tapatalk will simply cut off the edit or reply at the Smart Quote, and will not display anything else written after the Smart Quote.

Open Tapatalk in the Favourites page, which I think of as the dashboard, instead of the current home page. I only use the current home page when I want to find a forum, which isn't as often as wanting to go to my favourite forums.
On the Favourites page a new post count for each forum so I can see if it is worth going in there.
A 1x1 icon for the Android desktop, the current 1x2 takes up too much desk space.

Forum icon on the forum pages so I know where I am, perhaps the icon could be a tab for switching forums?

Hi, I tried searching whether this had been suggested before, but couldn't find anything. I'd like to request integration with TextExpander Touch on iOS devices (homepage (http://www.smilesoftware.com/TextExpander/touch/index.html)) - it's an app that allows you to define shortcuts for often used text snippets.

That's very, very useful for forums where you commonly post similar content, such as for tech support. Apparently the SDK (http://www.smilesoftware.com/TextExpander/touch/sdk.html) is fairly easy to use, and many other apps integrate with it. Your app is already streamlining my interaction with such forums quite a lot, so it would be great to have shortcuts available while composing replies within the app rather than in a text editor that supports it and constantly switching apps to check on details of the post I'm replying to.

It's been touched on but I'd like to see more loading options. Let me specify the initial page loaded when I go to a site. Example, some sites I mainly use Participated Topics but it initially loads Unread which takes awhile and cannot be aborted. Same w Favorites, i have to wait for Topics to load before going to Forums

There is too much navigating and the app needs better jumps.

1. Please add "Russian" language to the forum property in "Activate Tapatalk" section.
2. Could you remove restriction to only 50 search results? E.g. try to search by word "forum". You see only 50 first results.
3. Please add options to browse all forums on the selected languages (e.g. I want to find all forums in Russian).
4. It's nice to see a "Back to top of the page" button in a client. Probably the best solution is a hidden "Scroll back to Top" button in the Opera Mobile. It shows when you try to fast scroll to back/up.

You know what would be really awesome (even though it was mentioned previously, but not answered)? The ability to sync between devices through Dropbox functionality or something of the sort. Considering that a large portion of internet users are now using cloud services to sync devices, this would be something that would make Tapatalk much more awesome.

- the ability to save forum passwords (ie, where a specific part of a forum is password protected)
- compatibility with the karma / +1 and -1 system available on some forums

Also, an option to decide what you want as your default screen when you open Tapatalk (iPhone). When unload it up it always shows the search page and I have to select the Me tab, I would like the Me tab selected by default.

Depends on your forum system. Both are already supported

My forum is SMF and has karma, which is the SMF version of like but I can't use it in Tapatalk.

Likewise I cannot see which forum I am in when reading a post.

What would be cool is for me to share a thread or a post to Twitter. Why not, with Twitter integrated to iOS 5?

In Android any app may "share", I.e. post to any other app, be that Twitter, Google+, Facebook et al. It would be nice to see Tapatalk take advantage of this.

I dont think this has been posted before,

When moderating a post (editing a users reply) could the tapatalk team create a 'reason' box why the mod has editied their post as per the normal site?

All tapatalk asks for at the minute is the password.
