Issue:
-My avatar doesn't show up when I click "My Info" as it used to. A refresh was unsuccessful.

-When typing a post in landscape mode, the "Send" button is disabled. Is this the way it is supposed to be?

-When typing a post, Tapatalk doesn't seem to respond to line breaks (returns) and instead just puts the text after the line break right up against the last line.

-If the phone goes to sleep while viewing content, upon waking the phone, the app jumps back to the main area.

-I'm still getting permission errors that require logging out and back in to resolve. Seems to happen after the phone goes to sleep while in Tapatalk, which brings the app back to the main screen where you are required to choose the forum you want to enter- without the login dialog...

-The app crashed on me, but I have no idea why. I was viewing a thread and then it jumped back to the Tapatalk main area then the app crashed. I didn't touch anything when it happened.

-Thank you for reworking the Tapatalk signature line, but I have a request about that... Can it be wrapped in BBCODE to make it the smallest font (Size 1)? On my forums, since my text areas are white, I would personally make that line the smallest font and make the color grayish. This would make it visible but not make it stand out so much. That color scheme may not work for others', so maybe a way to control this option via file edit or config file?

The Future?
-Will Tapatalk support moderation functions such as editing and deleting posts/threads? This is especially helpful with SPAM.

-Shake to refresh threads/posts

-While typing a post, shake to clear all text

The time is incorrect.... I am also having the same issues as reported above. In the photo below.. the time on the phone is correct. the post shown in the picture was created just before I took the snapshot. Notice the time in the post if long after the time on the phone. This did happen today.

Yes it is disabled because we had some trouble with the SDK how the next screen should handle. Since you need to shift to portrait mode anyway for further action we thought this should be acceptable. What do you guys think?

I thought this problem is solved in 0.9.7 onward, you guys still having this problem? :confused:

Sent from iPhone using Tapatalk- it would be cool if we could control how that was displayed, even if it took a file edit.

Personally, I would use it, which is how I found out that it doesn't work. However, if it came to the not having the landscape mode at all, I would deal with the send button not working until the phone is back in portrait mode.

I thought it was fixed too, which is how you got the Tapatalk signature to move down, but I tried to today and it wouldn't work.

I don't know man.. this is the 3rd time i heard from forum owner requesting it but it sounds kind of... i mean, how does this action relates to "refresh"? I feel it is more appropiate to "random"?

I don't want to get sued if your iphone beinig shaked out from your hands and is damaged :eek:

we will add this if we hear a similar request from another forum owner. How's that?

:D It doesn't have to be a violent "throw your phone against the ceiling" shake, just a simple shake like using the Urbanspoon App of the "shake to shuffle" in the iPod App.

I have iBowl on my, where the instructions suggest that you use a bowling like motion to play the game, and after the swing, you have to take your thumb off of the screen to release the ball... If they don't get sued for iPhones and iPods flying across the room, you won't LMAO ;)

Yeah, I've had to adjust to that since the beginning of the pilot. But I guess it would be kind of data intensive to pull all of the quotes as well, which would also extend the size of the thread's depth. I guess this one of those "damned if you do, damned if you don't" situations.

I see your point, and I don't disagree. It can be especially hard to figure out who someone was talking to when there a several other posts between your response and theirs...

This is our to-do list and will re-visit it very soon. Haven't figured out the best way to hand it on such a small screen - but we'll try out best anyway. :)

These two problems are related and we are working on a fix now.

i get that error when my post doesnt go through.

i personally think the message should say something like failed to reply to thread/topic. you don't have permision to reply to thread/topic. OK instead of fine(to conform to apple's standards)

When viewing posts and you get to the bottom. The "more" button shows up, which is fine if there were more posts to view. However of it is the last post, it just adds the start of the thread to the bottom. Very confusing. Essentially if it is indeed the newest post the "more" button should not appear. This is just my thoughts. What are ur thoughts on this Winter?is there a way to make the "more" button disappear if you reach the end of the thread?

i was trying to reply to this thread but it failed. but i saw where it said there was one more post in this thread. so i tried to read it by clicking the button. nothing happened. i did it again and nothing happened. so then i clicked the arrow in the upper right corner and selected show newest posts. the post showed then.

It occurs in any thread I go into. Once I reach the bottom of the newest posts is says "Load 20 more posts" If you hit it, it loads 20 new posts from much older dates. Also, if you back out and go to the same thread and do it all over again, it loads 20 different posts then it did prior...

For this test I did it in this thread on trailvoy http://forums.trailvoy.com/showthread.php?t=46643

Here are some screen shots of what happens after you hit load 20 more posts.. notice each time it loads 20 different posts from a different day and time.

Hi FishHunter,

You are absolutely right - this is indeed a bug. The original intention is to show the "Load 20 more posts" at the middle of the list so to load anything in-between. For example:

- You entered this thread, it loads the earliest first 20 posts
- You scrolled to the bottom, it shows "Load 20 more posts", you tap on it, it should load the next 20 posts. This part works okay.
- Now, it shows the first 40 posts, and you decided to jump the the Newest Posts so to read the latest discussion, by tapping "Show Newest Posts" in the menu.
- It loads the Newest 20 posts. Assuming total posts are 1640. The structure is like below:

1-40 posts are shown
41-1619 posts are NOT shown
1620-1640 posts are shown

So to read the posts between 41-1619, you will need to tap on the "Load 20 more posts" button, which will get the 41-60 posts on first tap, and so on.

Now the bug is instead of showing this button at the bottom, we should put it at right after the 40th post, so not to confuse users.

What do you think instead of the best navigation UI that can fit into the screen at the same time not to confuse user?

So how is the testing going with the Push feature? I've been running OS 3.0 for some time now and I still don't see any settings or options showing up. I am assuming that they will be activating it in later betas, but the assumption by the masses is that the OS will be gold by next month...

right now Apple requires all the app submitted to app store to be built on OS 2.2 that means we can't include any OS 3.0 feature until Apple release OS 3.0 officially. We have successfully implemented the "Subscribed Topic" notification (when some responsed to your subscribed topic, a pop-up shows on your iphone), and will include the private message notification to make it complete.

But again we will need to wait until OS 3.0 is out.

Man that's a lot of work for us...

Are you referring to not showing an entire quote? "Quotes" are often used to quote content from articles or as a way to offset text. I'm only seeing the first few lines of a quote. Could this become a configurable option to show full quotes?

Yes, change the "shorten_quote" in the config.txt file to "0" and it will show the full quoted post.
